Breakdown figures for "cheques", "card and e-money payments", exlucluding the MEMO items, and "cash withdrawals", derive from the triennial Federal Reserve Payment Study, which began in 2000 and estimates annual figures every three years; figures for other years are derived from those estimates. 2 The 2013-2019 figures for credit transfers and direct debits have been revised for consistency with recent estimates from the Federal Reserve Payments Study. 3 Figure includes commercial cheques, US Treasury cheques and postal money orders. 4 Total figure does not include payments by "card with a delayed debit function". 5 Figure reflects payment by non-prepaid debit cards. 6 Figure reflects payments by prepaid debit cards. 7 Excludes cash back. 8 Excludes cash advances.
