This figure includes prepaid and gift cards. 3 All cards issued in Canada are mag stripe enabled, and all cards issued past 2010 have contactless technology. Based on an approximate turnover rate of 5 years for credit cards in Canada, the total of contactless and mag stripe cards is equivalent to the total of all cards in Canada from 2015 onwards 4 Data only reported for American Express cards.
